Several visitors asked me, how to get the power connection
for the LCDs best outward the case.
To solve this, it's possible to lead the 4-pole power plug
across a free slot bracket of the case.
Or just solder a simple adapter with this small kit
to use the 5 Volt power rail of an USB connector.
The solder guide is in the Modding section.

For the 20x4 displays there's now also a beautiful acrylic holder,
which should be placed on the table beneath the PC monitor
that the display is at any time well visible.
The display holder is suitably for all usual 20x4 displays with a
frame size of 98 x 40 mm (e.g. article no. 2003 or 2006).

Following components are contained in the scope of delivery:
1x transparent acrylic holder, thermoformed with lasered cut-out
1x plastic wedge
2x assembly timber wedge
External dimensions: approx. 120 x 60 x 90 mm (W/D/H)
Size of the cut-out: approx. 99 x 41 mm

LPT card pci
Plug & Play pci parallel port card

This pci card is interesting for everyone, who like to use a display
without having a free LPT interface.

Owing to Plug & Play this pci interface card can be installed very simply
in operating systems like e.g. Windows 95/98/2000/XP.
After installation into the PC this card offers an additional
parallel port (1 x 25-pol SUB-D connector).

Note:
It's important that the software which you like to use with
the text or graphics display allows an adjustment of the address range,
because the card doesn't use the 378h address but an address assigned
by the operating system like e.g. A800.
To find out the used LPT port address after the installation,
please take a look into the device manager.
(properties of the printer connetion -> resources -> I/O range)

Most software like e.g. Smartie, jaLCDs, LCDHype, LCDInfo, etc.
supports an address change.
(LCDStudio 1.5 doesn't support it, but the newer LCDStudio 2.x software
supports an adjustment of the LPT port address!)

Alternatively it's possible to use the parallel port of the Motherboard
for the display and use this pci LPT card as LPT2 for the printer, etc.
